Do you ever have days after a workout where you feel really Tight or Sore or your Body just feels a little heavy and Tired?
These feelings are actually a sign that you have worked muscles and parts of your body that you didn’t even know existed.
It’s all good
I love this feeling as this lets me know my body is changing..
Every ache and every bit of stiffness is your body releasing fat and tightening and toning up.
To relieve this feeling or reduce the tightness you just need to stretch more often and work on releasing your tight muscles.
Tight Muscles restrict blood and oxygen flow and this creates discomfort and can make you feel sluggish…
Ideally you should also Stretch every day after your workout.
- Its best to stretch when the body is warm
Think of your muscle like childrens play-doh
- When play-doh is cold it crumbles and is not very flexible
- When play-doh is warm it becomes supple and bendy and moves freely in any direction.
Your muscles are the same.
After each workout try and stretch your large muscle groups.

If you do not stretch you put yourself at risk of injury
Often people say they have bad knees or a bad back but when I ask how often they stretch they give me a blank look.
Sore knees are commonly the cause of tight muscles in the legs, these tight muscle pull on the joints when exercising and this causes pain..
If you neglect your muscles and do not work on your flexibility:
- Your pain will become worse over time
- The longer you leave it the harder it will be to correct and can lead to early arthritis.
- If you stretch often and look after your muscles
You will not feel any pain when you workout… - your body will thank you with a full range of movement for a very long time meaning…
- you can enjoy more of life for longer…
